We believe beauty and responsibility can walk hand in hand.

Every year, billions of tires are discarded, leaching toxins into the earth and creating breeding grounds for disease. What many see as waste, we see as possibility. Since 2017, we have been transforming reclaimed tires into the soles of our handcrafted footwear, giving new life to what was once left behind.

Founded by Métis entrepreneur Christal Duncan, Brave Soles was born out of her work alongside landfill workers around the world, where she saw firsthand the urgent need for both environmental solutions and dignified livelihoods. From this experience came a vision: fashion that honors people and the planet.

Our collections are made with upcycled and reclaimed materials—tire soles, retired aircraft leather, and other resources already in circulation. Produced in ethical, small-scale workshops, every Brave Soles design carries forward a story of renewal, connection, and care.

We create timeless designs meant to be worn again and again—not just as a style choice, but as a step toward a more equitable and sustainable world.

inception of Brave Soles in 2017.

We are indigenous women owned (Métis Nation) and our values are built on what we believe is possible for our collective future through relationships with each other and Mother Earth.

We believe in a world where our choices matter

The choices we make should be a reflection of what we value.
