Christal is a Métis entrepreneur who sees beauty where others see waste. Her path to fashion began alongside landfill workers in the Dominican Republic, where she saw how badly the world needed both environmental solutions and dignified work. In 2017 she founded Brave Soles, handcrafting footwear with soles cut from reclaimed tires. Miina Goods carries that vision further: bags, accessories and footwear handcrafted from upcycled tires and retired aircraft leather, made in small, ethical workshops. Rooted in Métis values of craft, resourcefulness and kinship, Christal builds brands that help companies give gifts with a story worth telling.

Widlene is co-founder and Director of Client Relations at Miina Goods, the brand she's building with her mother, Brave Soles founder Christal Duncan. She was born in the Dominican Republic, where the Brave Soles story began, and moved to Canada at 15. Today she studies business while overseeing brand and client management for a company that reaches from workshops in the Dominican Republic to clients around the world. She believes in sustainable fashion and in the power of our everyday choices to build a better future for all of us. At Miina, she brings that belief to every client relationship.

Scania is Manager of Logistics for Miina Goods in the Dominican Republic, where she was born and still lives. She joined the team in 2018, a year after Brave Soles began. Scania manages our relationships with production partners and makes sure every handcrafted piece is made with care and delivered on time. She also organizes our gifting experiences and makes each one a moment clients remember.
